Fight Club Rules - 06/27/2017 01:47pm
The first rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: You do not talk about Fight Club. Third rule of Fight Club: Someone yells stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight. Fifth rule: one fight at a time, fellas. Sixth rule: no shirts, no shoes. Seventh rule: Fights will go on as long as they have to. And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.
One of my favorite movie quotes - 09/03/2014 12:17pm
Lucius Fox: [to Reese] Let me get this straight, you think that your client, one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante, who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands, and your plan is to blackmail this person? [Reese's face falls and Fox smiles] Lucius Fox: Good luck.
Updated Website - 08/19/2013 03:22am
I have updated my personal website here. I basically put rounded corners on the top and bottom, changed the look of the pages when they print, and accidentally deleted all of my pictures. Whoops, I guess that’s what I get for doing work too early in the morning.
Another year - 08/03/2013 11:38pm
Wow, it has been a year since I have gotten my new phone. It no longer feels new, but it does not feel like it has been a year. So much has happened, but life still seems good, so I will keep going.
New phone - 08/01/2012 10:14pm
I have gotten a new cell phone as my original phones battery had all but stoped working. My phone is now the Galaxy S III 4G LTE. I hope I like it and can quickly get adjusted to the new touch screen.
Truck sale - 04/09/2012 11:11pm
I have completed the sale of my 1995 F150 truck. It was good knowing it. It rolled off the assembly line on my birthday, so I felt like I had a special bond with it because of that. It was very strange for me to be standing in my doorway watching the truck roll away with someone that I do not know driving it. It was even stranger when I realized the truck had left my driveway for the last time and that I may never see it again.
Education - 09/18/2011 01:26am
I have registered for classes, bought and received my text books, and attended orientation for an AAB program, which I will be transferring into the BBA once I have completed enough credits. This is a very exciting time for me, but a very busy time too, so hopefully, I will not get too worn out.
Labor Day - 09/04/2011 11:53pm
It is just about labor day, and I have the pleasure to work the day. how lucky am I? its not realy that bad, and a lot of people must work it along side of me, so there is comfort in numbers I guess. I have gotten a new computer and my old printer is not compatable with it... which does not make me happy since there is nothing wrong with it functionally. i knew there was a way, and after doing some research, i have found a solution/work around and have now actually printed for the first time in over four months. I guess that is why I am Schwoby Solutions.
Broken Phone - 07/03/2011 02:52pm
Jennifer and I were at the park with Brooke and Samantha the other night and we were playing on a merry-go-round. When I was getting off, I somehow bumped my elbow against my phone and it broke my screen. I have taken the phone apart, gotten the screen model and ordered a new screen. I am not happy with the broken screen, but if the new screen goes in as it should, I should only be a minor inconvenience. I must thank my boss Thane though, since he has graciously allowed me to use one of his old phones until I get mine fixed. Since this is a holiday weekend, it will probably take the week for the screen to get to me, but should only take 5-10 minutes to install. The whole situation is frustrating, but I think it I at least have a workable solution for now.
New chapter - 06/21/2011 01:12am
This is the end of a long day, a long time since my last post, and a long time since i could take a shower in my own home. I have had sewer problems for a while and i finally got them fixed today and just finished with a well deserving shower. Unfortunately, my shower head now needs replacement. Since the last post, i have completed a website for a cancer victim. I cleaned my office and got it 75% done, however, due to other cleaning in the house, it moved back into the messy realm of 50% clean. I am not happy about that and plan to rapidly yet discriminately "bulldoze" the mess out of the office and into the trash. I am looking forward to Bourbonnais Friendship Festival which will be starting in about 40 hours. I hope to take Brooke opening night and find something that she can ride in or go though. There is also a band that i want to see on Thursday night, but i am unsure if i will be able to go at this point in time. Work is slow at the moment, but it will be kicked into overdrive starting on Sunday. I have around 30 hours scheduled for events that week and that is additional to my daily responsibilities. All this to say that I have a busy time ahead of me too.
New Baby - 05/21/2011 11:11pm
It has been an incredible time the past 3 days. May 19th @ 3:50 PM, my wife gave birth to our second child, another beautiful daughter. She was 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. This has been the first time that I have really been able to get onto the computer since that morning and give any updates. We have named her Samantha Jo Schwob, and call her Sam. Jennifer is whipped, but still looking forward to the first night back in our bed and not the hospital. So for now, I will be signing off and going to bed as well.
Schoolhouse Rules - 04/26/2011 12:39pm
So it has been a while since I visited, but I received a copy of the schoolhouse rules from Naper Settlement and although they are from the 1800 + 1900s, they still have some value. That being said, I do not raise my child, soon to be children, with this rule structure being followed. The rules are as follows: 1) Obey thy elders. 2) Speak only when spoken to. 3) Idleness is sinful. 4) Busy hands maketh a quiet mouth. 5) Cleanliness is next to Godliness. 6) Stand thy body tall to recite. 7) Hold thy tongue when others speak. 8) Honor thy father and mother. 9) Be thankful for life's blessings. 10) Children should be seen and not heard.
Resume Uploaded - 04/12/2011 05:19pm
I have finally gotten my resume for being lighting technician completed and uploaded onto the site. I also plan on making a few minor adjustments, as in the objective and qualification areas, to make a web master resume as well. One thing that I feel is really nice is that the web page looks different on screen than when it is printed out. Take a look for yourself if you are interested by printing the resume page out.
It's that time again! - 04/05/2011 03:42pm
Spring time is full of things to be thankful for, and I truly am. The flowers and warm weather, motorcycle riding and baseball, animals playing and trees budding; it all seems so good. Not forgetting about the mud, pot holes, and morning frost, we can almost count 3 seasons in a single day. It is too warm to have the heat on, but too cool to have the windows open. On the other hand, I love bundling up and taking the bike out even though I am frozen by the time I get home. I would never consider taking a joy ride with this temperature in the fall; it is just too cold feeling that time of year. With all things told accurately, I would still consider taking a day off work to right now assuming I would ever skip work.
Fun night at the YMCA - 03/31/2011 11:23pm
So my wife is a LGI swim instructor. Just as an FYI, that means that she teaches people how to be lifeguards. Anyway, tonight was the final for the people in her class, and I got to go in and be the failing swimmer that drowns or panics and needs to be "rescued". It's really fun and this time around one of the trainees was a co-worker of mine at Olivet. I was also given some pizza as a thank you from the co-instructor that Jennifer was teaching with.
Really I do not know what that is like! - 03/30/2011 08:18pm
So it really annoys me when people are answering a question with something along the lines of "Oh, you know" or "the usual stuff". If I knew what you were talking about or feeling or whatever, I would not be asking you about "IT". But to get to something that actually matters, I have completed my churches new website (www.EastridgeNaz.org). It has a lot of features, including a log-in area for church members to view the monthly finance reports, and we are looking at expanding these features even further in the not too distant future. The next site is actually a mini site for the church; the youth groups web site. Anyway, I felt like I should blog since I have not done so in a little while and that is my "rant of the day".
What happened to all the sundials? - 03/15/2011 06:15pm
Its 6:00 and I just got done with work. There is still daylight and I feel that I have missed the whole day now. At least when it was dark getting done with work I could feel like my days work took a day. Plus moving the clock has seriously messed with my sleeping schedule and I am having a hard time adjusting. Indiana, until recently, had it right by not changing the clock, but they caved to peer pressure and now changes too.
No More Yahoo Account - 03/08/2011 06:25pm
I have started the process of removing my yahoo account of "Schwoby". This is not because I do not like the name anymore, but rather, my account has been hacked and virus oriented emails are being sent from the account with no way for me to stop them other than this extreme measure that I have taken. Yahoo said in their notice to me that it can take up to 90 days for my account to be deleted from their servers, but that access is no longer permitted to the account, so all of the nasty little emails that I have not been sending myself should now stop.
Almost done - 03/02/2011 11:27pm
i have gotten the photo feature completed, which leaves only my Resume to be completed. this may or may not get done quickly since i am not looking to leave my full-time job at this point.
New Site - 02/28/2011 11:52pm
I have completely remade my personal website. I am not done with it yet, but i have the Wish List and Blog features 100% completed. Maybe I will get the Photos feature completed tomorrow. The blog, photos, and wish list are all database driven so I can update them at any time I wish. The photo area will upload the full size image as well as a resized copy for the thumbnail view. The Resume and About Me pages are static pages since I do not plan on updating them very often.
